Day 1: Adelaide-Sydney-LA-San Francisco

Well....we made it!  Boy is at a long, long way to travel.  Not a lot of sleep was had, due to the exciting inflight entertainment, and the continual aisle procession of the Qantas hosties handing out food and drinks!  The A380 is an enormous and very comfortable plane.  My favourite part of the inflight entertainment was to watch the 'tailwing cam', where we could watch ourselves take off, fly the 12000km to get here, and land.  We took a video of the screen as we took off, hopefully you will be able to click on it and have a look.
After arriving in San Francisco and settling into our room we headed off for a late lunch at a 1950's 'Happy Days' style diner called Lori's.  When our food arrived and the portion sizes were in front of us, we were reminded that ordering an item each from the menu is really not the thing to do , as the amount of food could have fed 3 extra people!
After eating we did a bit of browsing in the shops trying to kill time before falling into bed, which we have all done.  The kids were asleep in less than 10 minutes, and I'm not far behind.
Love Jo
